今年撮った動画のベスト（その２）です。

日本にいると「アイルランド英雄」と言われても、どの位なのか分かりにくいものですが、７月に実際にロンドンに行ってその人気ぶりを実感したのが Thin Lizzy です。

High Voltage Festivalの初日、別のステージでのアーティストが終わった後、急いでメイン・ステージのThin Lizzyのところへ行くと、立錐の余地のない混雑ぶりでした。

そこで、VIPチケットを買った人のみ入れる「GRANDSTAND SEATING」エリアを上がって撮ったのがこの映像↓です。後ろ歩きで上がって行ったので、最初は激しく揺れ、見苦しくてすみません m(_ _)m


一画面ではとても全景をとらえきれないほどのオーディエンス。おそらく、東京ドームの２～３個分は人が集まっていたのではないでしょうか。

Some may say that this is not Thin Lizzy without Philip Lynott. Actually I’ve got that kind of comment on this movie. I know Phil and Gary Moore are the greatest musicians. So, It’s not that I don’t understand saying "This is not Thin Lizzy", and I’d had a same feeling before I watched their stage.

But after the show, I changed my opinion. It was really great performance!! Especially, I loved Ricky Warwick’s vocal style as well as John Sykes or John Norum. I felt the great respects for Phil from Ricky.

Though REAL Thin Lizzy must be better than this.

Anyway, I was doubtlessly convinced that Thin Lizzy has been the most beloved band in the U.K. I’m glad if the films below prove that.

By the way, I bought the VIP ticket, so I could climbed up to the highest position of the GRANDSTAND SEATING. It was a magnificent scene from there!!

フィル・ライノットのいないシン・リジィってどうなの？と最初は思っていましたが、実際に生で観て考えが変わりました。「本物」はこれ以上に違いないでしょうが、今のバンドも非常に素晴らしかったです。
特にリッキー・ワーウィックのヴォーカルはジョン・サイクスやジョン・ノーラム同様にフィルへのリスペクトが強く感じられ、良かったです。
オールドファンからはこちらに「これはシン・リジィじゃない」と書かれてしまいましたが、そう書きたくなる気持ちも分からなくもありません。何せフィルやゲイリー・ムーアは偉大すぎです。
いずれにしてもシン・リジィは英国にて非常に愛されているバンドであることがよく分かりました。下の動画を見て感じてもらえたら嬉しいです。

ちなみに今回、VIPチケットを買ったので、GRANDSTAND SEATINGという特別席の一番高い所から撮りました。その眺めは圧巻でありました！

タイトルに釣られてきた人も、
ここ数日の投稿の流れからすでに先が読めている人も、ようこそいらっしゃいました。

今日の名曲１選です。



３つ前の投稿で書いた「Still in Love with You」とタイトルが似ていますが、こちらは「Falliing」。

歌詞を読んでみると、どちらも片想いの曲みたいですが、
「Still ～」の方は終わってしまった恋に「それでも、、、」と切なく歌っているのに対し、
「Falling ～」は夢のある明るい感じになっています。

フィル・ライノット、ゲイリー・ムーア、ジョン・サイクスの書く、この手の LOVE 系バラードって、どれも通じ合うものがあると思います。

日本語に訳すと恥ずかしくて歌えませんね。
